Vintage Girls Books: An Introduction

On this blog I'm going to be doing book reviews for vintage girls books. I really love old books from 1900-1970 that are aimed at juvenile girls and I currently own a lot. Right now I'm in the process of re-reading all my books because I have too many and am trying to figure out which ones to let go of.

My reviews aren't going to be too great, I'm not very good with words and struggle to get my thoughts out in a concise way. But I love reading other peoples reviews so I thought I'd join in on the fun. Mostly I'll share my disjointed thoughts while reading and a little overview of my opinion on each book. I'm also a big fan of the artwork in books so I'll try to share that too.

My favorite type of books are mystery and adventure books from the 1930's. My favorite series are Judy Bolton by Margaret Sutton, Mary Lou by Edith Lavell, and Jean Mary by Ella Dolbear Lee. I also enjoy non-mystery books such as the Whitman Novels for Girls series and books by Betty Cavanna.

I don't expect too many people, if any, to find this blog and really it's just for my own amusement as well as a place to keep track of the books I've read. But if anyone comes across it I hope they'll find something of interest to them.

At the moment I'm getting all the reviews I've written over the past 6 months drafted up. Once I'm caught up with them then I'll start posting. This should be pretty soon!
